I am a textile artist and designer specialising in screen printed textiles. My practice revolves around space, exploring both positive and negative within a composition. Looking at the domestic and natural landscape, I use drawing and abstraction to make sense of the spaces I find myself in. Observational drawing is key to my practice, developed through collage and finally onto fabric. My visual language is intuitive and process lead. Composition and scale are key elements in my work, with historical research playing a significant role in my creative process. Using a playful approach to screen printing, I treat the screen as a drawing tool to develop compositions. By considering both art and design, with some compositions lending themselves more to placement or pattern, a slow and analogue approach connects my work.
